It's 3:30 in the morning and I'm watching Doctor Who. What's wrong with this picture?

Well, absolutely nothing now that I've been introduced to Captain Jack.

Ah well. I have all weekend to sleep. You know, after I make my way through Doctor Who and Torchwood.

Oh, and those of you who are Americans who watch...is it normal to start thinking in a British accent after mainlining episodes??

Ah yes, the lovely Cap'n Jack. :D You may also enjoy the Jack/Ianto slashiness. Oh yes. Is very nice.

You might miss Chris Ecclestone, he really did a stand-up job, but for me David Tennant *is* The Doctor. No doubt. Glad you're enjoying it.

I'm sure I'm going to be a little sad overall once I'm through all of the episodes that I have. *sniff*

So much fun!

It's completely normal to think in a British accent after mainlining episodes. It's also normal to speak with a slight British lilt to your words after mainlining episodes. :)

I'm so glad to hear that it's not just me.

I realized that I was thinking using a certain cadence and vocabulary that I don't normally use.

(I'm already prone to throwing a random "u" into words here and there from being around Canadians.)

The Canadians are a corrupting influence, aren't they? *g*

I've started listening to a radio station from Toronto in the mornings, thanks to the wonder known as the Internet. Our local radio stations suck, and I can only get one in the library anyway, so if I'm listening online, I might as well listen to something outside the area.

The differences in the ads crack me up sometimes. There's been some that I know there's no way they'd get played on US radio, such as condom ads. They're not all that raunchy per se, but enough to get people wound up.

Everything's much better now, isn't it?

Ah well. I have all weekend to sleep. You know, after I make my way through Doctor Who and Torchwood.

Sleep is for the weak... and those who haven't seen Captain Jack.

Oh, and those of you who are Americans who watch...is it normal to start thinking in a British accent after mainlining episodes??

Perfectly normal side effect. Other side effects include the urge to drink tea, eat "chips" and slash Captain Jack with any pretty male in the vicinity.

He's ever so pretty.

I can totally manage on minimal sleep. I only need a small portion of my brain for the projects I'm on at work anyway.

!!Maybe this explains why I had tea the other morning from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf instead of my normal vanilla latte!!

Okay, so I may have been running through a fandom list for slashability with Captain Jack mentally. *hee*

He's ever so pretty.

It also helps that the first season of Doctor Who, while it certainly has some very serious moments, has such a sense of "glee" about it, and the cheeky Captain Jack fits in so well.

Just don't get too accustomed to the cheek. In Torchwood, Jack's much more emo, but he has reason(s) to be.

Pretty much every character you can think of works, don't they? *g* And with Captain Jack having the time travel thing on his side, it makes it easy to slash him anytime, anywhere, with anyone.

Yes. I started to think about logistics and went. 'Well, he is a time traveller, hmmmmmmm.'

I'm such a bad fan. I've had Torchwood downloaded on my laptop for ages now and still haven't watched it. I really need to though. Cuz I know with the new Doctor Who season about to start I'll get totally sidetracked.

I honestly thought that after watching Eccleston, I would *never* like Tennant cuz I absolutely adored Nine. But I quickly came to love Tennant as well.

I'm so glad that several people have told me that they loved Nine, but love Ten as well. It gives me hope when I start watching that season this afternoon.

Absolutely. My language is becoming peppered with Britishisms, as well. (I, too, have found DW and Torchwood to be an excellent substitute for sleep.)

I've been using phrases and words (mentally at least) that I don't normally use. It's kind of funny. I'm so glad I'm not the only one.

Yes. Yes it is. I find it mixing in with all the Canadianisms I've picked up from my flist. ;) But I keep finding myself using little Britisms just in syntax and stuff... like saying "I would have done" or something. I find it kind of awesome, though. My speech patterns have become a cultural melting pot, mostly through fault of the Internet. ;)

It's all a clever plot by Canadia and the U.K. to take over the U.S.
