So my shiny new phone had been acting a bit less than shiny last night and today.  I kept getting an error that said there was no Sim card inserted.  I had to keep opening it up and re-inserting the Sim card and holding my breath that the phone recognized it.  I figured my Sim card was damaged or something (it's a few years old) so I was going to get a new one tonight.

I decided to check online and discoverd that a guy had done a post about the same type of phone, a Sony W580i where he was having the same problem.  Evidently the Sim card needs to be locked into place for it to secure.  The instructions do not state this in the manual.  Also, the card doesn't instinctually lock in.  I had to use a paper clip to get it all the way in to lock.

So thanks to Google and another internet geek I now don't need to shell out money for a new Sim card before my trip.
