Bleh and some possible squee

I was supposed to go out with
leupagus and other fangirls tonight for booze and squee but I have a sudden case of the creeping crud right now. Woke up sneezing and coughing this morning and now it's progressed into generally feeling like crap. I just want to curl up in a blanket and OD on NyQuil. I'm pondering finally watching "Sherlock" but I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay coherent enough to really pay attention. Perhaps tomorrow.
I'd picked up fixings to make chili in the slow cooker, but I'm kind of wishing now I'd gotten stuff for soup. Oh well, the chili should clear my sinuses out.
___________
In happier news, I'm seriously considering taking a trip to Toronto at the end of May/early June. It's Memorial Day and my birthday. I keep saying that I should see other parts of Canada and I'm told Toronto is lovely and um...there may be a certain show filming around that time. *cough*
So if anyone on my flist has tips/warnings/things in general about Toronto they'd like to share with me, I'll take it. If I do end up going it'd be for at least a week. Suggestions on areas to stay in and areas to avoid staying in would also be most welcome.

on 2012-02-19 03:00 am (UTC)I can recommend a couple of yarn stores, if you're interested: Lettuce Knit is in an interesting part of town, and though the Purple Purl is way out of the way (or felt that way when I was there), I liked it a great deal.
I also strongly recommend the Royal Ontario Museum. It is notable as a natural history museum, but also because recent expansions have left it looking like some large alien crystal growth has started to eat a traditional old museum building.
Have you read Scott Pilgrim? If not, you could read it before you go! It does actually reference some real Toronto locations -- Honest Ed's, in particular, is at least worth googling, if not worth going to see.
Can you tell that I'm a fan of Toronto? Sadly, I have no recommendations for an area in which to stay, except that proximity to the subway is useful.
And I hope you feel better soon!

on 2012-02-19 03:08 am (UTC)I've read a bit of Scott Pilgrim, but I will definitely do a read before I go.
I've always heard great things about Toronto, so this seems like a good opportunity to verify the awesomeness.
Yarn store suggestions are ALWAYS welcome, of course. :D
I'm going to be drugging up soon and sleeping. I'm hoping that kills whatever vile thing has latched on. Thanks for the well wishes.
