So I finally got around to installing Sims 3 on my laptop.  For those of you who may not know, I've been a Sims fan since Sims 2.  It's the whole god complex thing.  I mean, I get to make pretty (of varying definitions of pretty) boys and girls and have them Woo Hoo their brains out and do interesting stuff.

So three guesses as to who the first two Sims were that I created?  Hint: One was dressed in a polo shirt and cargo pants, the other in dress pants, dress shirt and tie. :)

Steve and Danny so far (I'll hopefully share pics at some point, but I'm having issues saving them at the moment.):

Steve and Danny started as roommates.  They were both young adults, fresh out of high school.  Danny graduated from the local military boarding school and Steve from the local sports boarding school (the game selected these, but I found them quite amusing).  They hit it off right away.  Within the first couple of hours, Danny was giving Steve flowers.  By the end of their first night, they were um "sleeping" in the same bed. :)

They both got jobs.  Danny as a cop, Steve in the military.  The funny thing about Steve is, even though he's in the military I get pop-ups of the police offering him a chance to switch jobs almost every day.  I can't get over how perfect that is for him.

Danny is a family-oriented kinda guy, so to date they've adopted 3 kids.  Two girls, one boy.  When their daughter Lexie was a toddler, Danny liked to take her out around town in the stroller wearing nothing but his boxer shorts and socks.  Steve stayed at home reading trashy romance novels. :)

I love all the new interactions they have in Generations.  Kids can be shipped off to various boarding schools.  They gain skills/traits while they're there.  The parents can remove them at any time, but while they're gone there's no interacting with them.  This can be very useful when there is a crowded house.

Newborns receive a gift doll in the mail.  When they're toddlers they can play with the doll.  If they play with it enough, they become friendly with the doll. Then when they age up to children, the doll can become an imaginary friend to play with.  Only the child can see or interact with the imaginary friend.  Everyone else just sees the kid talking or having pillow fights with themselves.  Once the relationship is good enough, there's an opportunity to make the imaginary friend real.  I'm still hunting down the right gem to allow Lexie to make her friend "Bob" real.

They also have additional interactions for teens and adults as well.  Parents can be sent away for a couple of days of vacation when there's a teen in the house.  This gives the teen the opportunity to party while they're gone.  Sometimes they get away with the parties, sometimes not so much.  For teens who don't go off to boarding school, there's the chance of a prom opportunity coming up.  Danny and Steve's oldest, Grace was elected prom queen. :)  She also met and kissed her first girlfriend, Devin at the prom.

There are also now mood swings for the teens.  During the mood swings they pretty much hate everyone, want to skip school, pick fights, embarrass people, essentially act like teens. :)  For the adults there's now the chance that when they go from Young Adult to Adult, they will have a mid-life crisis.  (Danny had one and decided that he needed a new outfit and hairdo.)

So that's their life so far.  I'll add more updates if they do anything fun. :)
