Since it's clearly all I can manage these days, yet more fannish babble...

NCIS:LA - There was a tweet about Chris O'Donnell being on the Craig Ferguson show tonight and how he talks about LL Cool J 'completing' him. How am I not supposed to slash G and Sam when they hand me stuff like that? Though, I'd be really happy if my brain would get with the program and finish the damn Gibbs/G fic that I'm a little over halfway done with. It's not that long of a fic and it's all in my head. My brain just refuses to actually let it free. *sigh*

SG:A - I'm still working my way though the episodes. I'm on "The Long Goodbye" right now and I'm liking Season 2 overall. I have to say that I'm enjoying watching the show on my lonesome. I'm far removed from fannish expectations and input. While I do enjoy fannish interaction much of the time, it's not really helping my mental stability these days. The problem comes in now that I'm craving fic. I know where the archives and lists are, so that's not the problem. The problem is that my brain gets *extremely* picky about fic and characterization. I confess, I'm a McShep girl. As much as I'd like to fight it, I dig these two guys. With fic though, I get really set on the characterization that's satisfying for me. I'm just not sure how to articulate what I'm looking for to even ask for recommendations. I just know I want plotty right now. *sigh* It's totally going to be a case of hit and miss hunting.

Also? There needs to be more Caldwell love in the fandom. It's Mitch Pileggi! There should be oodles of fic about him, no matter the character. Can I make some sort of law about that?

On the good non-fannish side: DISNEYLAND ON FRIDAY!!!! I'm doing some Mouse Therapy to de-stress from the sucky job.

I should respond to the fannish stuff because, you know, yay! But really, all I want to say is...

Man that was a fast reply! I hadn't even finished my Caldwell edit yet. :)

DISNEYLAND is YAY! We really must get you down here at some point to enjoy it. You'd love! Oh and tell your roomie that I'm practicing my Toy Story while I'm there. :)

S2 of SGA wasn't bad at all. I can't remember when I faded away from the show, but I remember still enjoying it in the second season.

As for looking for fic, that's a tough one. I know what you mean about needing characterizations you believe in. Best guess would be to start with writers you know from other fandoms and see what they do. Once you get hold of someone who writes them the way you like, *then* you can point to that and ask for others.

Oh, and do you need a heads up about NCIS tomorrow night? I'll likely post a quick "worth the effort" or "paaaaass". :-)

I have a couple of folks who are doing early viewing of NCIS tomorrow night. I'm sure I'll watch it, but I'm staying clear of fandom on that for a bit.

I know I have at least a few folks on my flist who've written SG:A at some point. I really should start with them. I've avoided the fandom like a plague for so long, it's a little tough reconciling my brain that it's okay to read it. :)

LOL!!! Yeah, I know the feeling. I felt the same way about SG1, to be honest. I dragged my feet for ages simply because I knew once I got into it it would eat my life.

It did. :-)

For that matter, I did the same thing with NCIS fandom. ;-)

I hate it when I've got a story sitting nearly complete in my head and I just can't get it out!

I stopped reading SGA when other fandoms started eating my brain (there was just too much for me to keep up with!), but I have a bunch of McShep recs (for the most part, there might have been one or two others thrown in there) through season 3-ish, under my fic rec: sga tag.

I will definitely check the tag out. I realized that I have quite a few flist folk who wrote McShep at some point. I definitely figure that's a good place to start since I know their other work.

*nods* I totally understand. I think it's possible to read and enjoy fic without otherwise engaging in fandom, though. It's discussion and fannish events and challenges where the stress really hits.

I am totally envying the Mouse Therapy! Enjoy, and ride Space Mountain once (among several) for me. *g*

Yeah. I think it's a necessity for NCIS for me right now. I'm deciding whether to continue watching or not, and I really do want to decide based on the show itself not based on fannish influences either way.

They have Space Mountain all decked out for Halloween and have made changes. Can't wait to see it. I'll take pics.

I'll also be getting lots of Toy Story practice in. :D

I'm so envying you your proximity to Disneyland. I wish I could see it all decked out seasonally!
