Excellent couple of days.

Fannishly speaking, I've been having an excellent couple of days. There's all of the Torchwood squee, I got my Chronological X-Men DVDs last night and Sci-fi (yes they still suck) is doing a Doctor Who marathon today and "The Empty Child" is on right now. *sigh*

On a related note. There are at least a couple of folks on the BBCAmerica community board who've said that they watched all of Doctor Who, but were "shocked" when Jack turned out to be omnisexual. ??? First 2 minutes he's on screen he's checking out Rose's ass and then complimenting Algy on his. How is the ambiguous? Don't even get me started on the whole "I have nothing against gay people but two men kissing is just over the top!" thing. Sure, Owen can show his naked bits and shag away with a woman, but heaven forbid that two men kiss. GAH!

Have I mentioned that I REALLY want it to be January??

I saw that "shocked" reaction in other forums too. Seriously, were they not paying attention? Not only did Jack check out both Rose and Algy, but there's the Doctor explaining to Rose about how by Jack's time, humanity had spread out across the galaxy, with all sorts of "dancing." And good grief, he kissed the Doctor!

I can't say i am surprised that some people were shocked when Jack was revealed as omnisexual or whatever his sexual orientation is (i don't give a damn). When it happened, I was thinking "cool, mmm.." cos it was no big deal. Therefore we, as humans, still are the work in progress of evolution after 6.5 millions years. It take a time for us to get comfortable and relax about our sexuality.

Mmh yes I also saw some "shocked" people on a mailing list I am on (mostly American people who are shocked) from the Jack/Jack kiss & the gay reaction on it all *rolls eyes*
Made me wonder what they were doing when they watched Dr Who & the rest of Torchwood

Mhh yes can't wait until January either :D
