GAAAHHHHH!!!! You'd think I'd feel better after that, but no.

My roommate and I were given notice last Friday that we needed to be out of our place by August 15th. Now it turns out that my roommate found another place and she wants to move as soon as possible. The problem here being that the utilities are in her name. So if she moves out on the 24th like she wants, even finding a place I can move into on the 1st leaves me a week in limbo. GAH!!! The one place that I found today that sounds decent isn't even available until the 15th.

The other major factor is that I can't afford the deposit and rent for anyplace before the 1st (and even that is pushing it).

Yeah, life pretty much sucks right now. And after such a great weekend too.

So... you two aren't going to be roommates anymore? And she just decided that and dumped it on you without warning? That totally sucks!! I wish I could offer something other than virtual hugs... like property. Sigh. Hang in there, chica! I'm sure things will work on and it'll all be for the best in the end.

Yeah, I have a couple of places I'm working on, but the timing is a bitch.

Looks like I'll be couch surfing with someone for at least two weeks, probably more though.

some places, when you are moving in past the middle of the month, only charge half rent, instead of full rent...
that MIGHT be an option for you...
other than that, what about borrowing someone's couch/floor space for a few days if she moves on the 24th?
a friend of mine had to do that as she was writing the final draft of her master's thesis.. it wasn't a great situation, but she said that being away from all her usual distractions actually HELPED her in the end. it was like a break w/o having a real break.

Yeah, I'm looking at the whole couch thing for a couple of weeks at least. It's a matter of finding the couch now. I'm keeping positive that things will get resolved in the long run, it's just the waiting until that happens. BLEH!!
