A Blessing

This post was originally going to be another rant over 'When Fandoms Attack', but I decided against it. I don't need the aggrivation and I believe there were wrongs on both sides. I'm somewhat ashamed I even dipped my toe into the waters. I should know better.

Instead I've decided to post a blessing from a book that [livejournal.com profile] aostara gave me for my b-day. It's very appropriate for my new Anam Cara both near and far...

May you be blessed with good friends.
May you learn to be a good friend to yourself.
May you be able to journey to that place in your soul where there is great love, warmth, feeling, and forgiveness.
May this change you.
May it transfigure that which is negative, distant, or cold in you.
May you be brought in to the real passion, kinship, and affinity of belonging.
May you treasure your friends.
May you be good to them and may you be ther for them; may they bring you all the blessings, challenges, truth and light that you need for your journey.
May you never be isolated.
May you always be in the gentle nest of belonging with your anam cara.

*anam cara means 'soul friend'

Yup. I'm happy to bounce around with folks that I can have fun with and enjoy our mutual obsessions. Much more fun than arguing over them.

You and I both, my dear, you and I both. And yes -- your choice of post is much more soothing -- just what I needed today.

::hugs::

Very... zen.

You're more than welcome hun. I'm thinking of taking a break from the MLs for a bit. There are still small ripples on a couple of the lists, and frankly, I can do without the negativity right now.

Amazing that on some lists they see LJ as a work of the Devil -- when in truth, sure, we have flames and such around here, but I don't think I've ever seen anything that equalled the bitching you can find on an ML.

Couldn't agree more. I find LJ a much calmer place. Plus, I can discuss a multitude of topics with my friends and not worry about getting modded for being 'OT'. Who's gonna mod me? Me?
