Normally I don't rec movies, but Roomy and I went and saw The Departed last night. Oh. My. God. One of the best written, directed and acted movies I've seen in a loooooooooonggg time. All of the actors were brilliant (including Alec Baldwin who proved he could be hysterical without mentioning "sweaty balls" even once). The script was just fantastic and I will be shocked if Scorcese doesn't get nominated for an Oscar.

Warning that it is definitely on the violent side and the language is crude (I'd call the combo of the two "Scarface-lite"), but the humor that's injected helps keep the violence from becoming to overwhelming.

I can't possibly gush enough about how much I loved this film. Go. Watch.

Everyone I've spoken to loved this movie (and Alec Baldwin in particular, actually). I knew I wanted to see it the moment I heard it was a remake of Infernal Affairs, but now I want to see it, um, right now.

Well that tipped me over from maybe to definitely :) I am not sure when I'll go though, is half term in 2 weeks so probably then.
