I liked the ep for the most part. It was an okay plot. I was really in it for the characters anyway. And to see if the pornstache was still alive or not. *sigh*

I spent most of the ep wanting to give Tony a big fat hug. Poor Woobie. He worked his ass off as team leader and earned the respect of the others. Ziva was bugging with her comments. I didn't hate her but I felt like she dropped back into the role of questioning Tony way too easy.

McGee? I wanted to kick his ass for the comment he made to Tony about not being able to be a team leader.

Tony didn't force Gibbs to leave and he certainly didn't ask to take over the team. Yet he's the one getting kicked in the teeth after Gibbs returned. I really want Gibbs to look at him and at least say "Yeah. I fucked up." Either that or for Tony to just plain lose it with Gibbs.

Ducky! My love for him in this ep was great. I really like that he's not cutting Gibbs a break on abandoning everyone. Plus I think he's still smarting over the whole Gibbs had a family thing. I'm really hoping they let that story play out for a few eps.

MD. OMG. I actually really liked her in this episode. I'm not sure I've ever said that for an entire ep for her before. I like that Tony is comfortable and confident enough with her now that he calls her Jenny. I can see them becoming confidants in at least a minor way. She gets Tony and knows what it's like to be partnered with Gibbs.

I'm still not thrilled with the idea of Tony slotting back into the subordinate role and I really hope they deal with it over the course of the season. Still? Mad love for the team.

There's still lots of angst!fic potential and angry sex!fic. Mmmm angry sex...

Oh, Tony! I hurt for him so bad the entire ep. He needs copious cuddling.

And I was shocked that I liked MD, too. The whole ep kind of made my brain hurt in that screwing with expectations way.

I know! I just wanted to hug him so badly.

I thought of you when Tony was telling Tim that they would need to 'talk' after the whole speed dating conversation.

Me, too! Ziva and McGee irked me. I wanted to shake them both.

I really want Gibbs to look at him and at least say "Yeah. I fucked up." Either that or for Tony to just plain lose it with Gibbs.

I want some acknowledgement that Gibbs did something uncool. He might not be sorry, or he might not be able to say he's sorry even if he is, but he needs to address it somehow. It's the big pink elephant sitting in the corner.

Tony losing his cool would be way cool! I could imagine him saying, "I have no problem working for you, but I have a problem trusting you to stick around." Or, you know, something much cooler than that. *g*

I'm over here jumping up and down every time Ducky gets a dig in. I just hate it that Gibbs slid back into his old position without any acknowledgement that he'd been gone, or that they'd done a good job in his absence, or that there was once again a shift in position within the team. It was like the four months he was gone never happened, and that really bugs me.

I. Sort of. Didn't hate her this ep. *g* I draw the line at saying I like her. Yet. But I did like the things she did and said in this ep, and she didn't once give Gibbs the old, remember when we..., which helps a lot imo. *g*

I think they need to deal with Tony's role on the team, as well. I still believe that there should be some kind of co-leadership role for Tony. At least give him more responsibility. Perhaps Gibbs realizing that it won't be long before Tony has his own team will give Tony a more active leadership role, even if it's just to continue training him to be a team leader.

Yes! It's totally in character for Tony to be insecure about him sticking around and about how much faith Gibbs has in his abilities.

The optimist part of me is excited at the possibilities they've opened up with the dynamics. They can actually do some pretty cool things with the characters if they follow up with the adjustment of Gibbs leaving and coming back. Ducky's continued irkment gives me hope for this.

The stressed fangirl in me is nervous that we'll get a couple of lip service shots and then it'll be totally like it never happened. Past experiences with lazy TPTB scare me for this.
