H50 speculation and wishful thinking.

webbgirlPutting this behind a cut for extremely spoiler-y talk of 2x15 and wishful thinking involving the major casting spoiler in 2x18.
So we know that Danny's ex-partner from New Jersey is showing up in 2x15 and there's bad history going on between them. There are also some spoiler-y production stills that have been released and are posted here (I'll give you all a couple of minutes to cool down from the sight of the thigh holsters) and it looks like Stan gets shot. There were a couple of folks speculating it was Matt, but I'm 99.9% sure it's Stan. I'm really hoping Stan doesn't die though. I would hate if the show opened the whole Rachel/Danny can of worms that way again.
Anyway, I'm thrilled that we're getting some potential for good Danny!Angst (and the requisite Steve!Comfort that comes after). I'm hoping that in 2x18 when Danny's father (James Caan) shows up that we'll get some discussion of Matt. Possibly even some sort of resolution. I really hate that this is one of the threads the writers have dropped since last season. I'm also hoping for an great introduction scene when Papa Williams meetsDanny's boyfriend Steve.
The writers seem to have this track record of being able to set up a potentially awesome character story and then have no real follow through. Or the follow through is just lame. (Yes, I'm looking at you Kono storyline.)
What I want is some awesomely awesome Danny angst and Steve being all awesome and there for him. A side of Jealous!Steve after meeting Danny's ex-partner might be kind of great too. Then there's all the fic that will tumble out after.
