I too have lamented the fact that it's not possible to knit and play video games at the same time -- on many occasions I've decided to watch television instead, because it feels more productive as a consequence. Protip, though: depending on the project, it is occasionally possible to knit during the loading screens of DA:O. They can get long.
I eagerly await the day we will be able to control video games with our minds, leaving hands free for knitting.
(We're weathering the storm just fine so far, here in MA. Living on the fourth floor, it's not like we have anything to flood, and it's not supposed to get that windy here.)
