In spite of a break where we got to go bowling yesterday afternoon, work has been kicking my butt this week. I've been getting home and more or less collapsing. This sucks for having any sort of life at the moment. I'm hoping that tomorrow after work I'll be able to start catching up on fannish stuff.

I will say that I loved this weeks "Birds of Prey" and "GL: Emerald Warriors". In lieu of a full review I'll just say that the GL:EW artist appreciates how much some of us appreciate Guy Gardner's butt. :)

So question for my DC fannish folks... Given the sliding scale for aging, do we have a ballpark for Bruce Wayne or Dick Grayson's ages? I know Tim is 17 or so based on recent stuff and Damian is 10 or 11, but I don't have a real good grasp on the other two.

I sent you email to yahoo on this but in case that's not your preferred address, I'll repost here. I asked Morgan the comics geek about this and this was the answer I got:

It makes no sense, no. The classic usedta-be cannonical (in as much as anything ever was) E. Nelson Bridwell answer is that Bruce Wayne, like Clark Kent, is permanently 29, but that doesn't make sense when his young ward is at least 25. (Given his time in college, his time with the Titans, etc.) If I were going to give ages, I'd say Bruce was about 35, Dick was about 25, Tim was closer to 16 and Damian would probably be about 12. But that's just off the top of my head.

In other words, "make it up." ;-)

P.S. And it occurs to me that if your DC fan friends don't know who Nelson was....then, um, I'm old.

Hee. I have sent him my thanks and your reply and we shall see what he says in the morning (he, being my smart other half, has gone to bed).

Also, what is your preferred email these days?

Oh yes. So many good ass shots. I swear, every other panel I was stopping to go, "Ooooh, nice one."

After your comment awhile back that Kyle is one of the few GLs drawn with an actual package, I also couldn't help but notice that Guy got some pretty sweet crotch shots this issue. :-D

Heh. Someone once told me that people have gone stark raving mad trying to figure out the timeline/chronology of the Robins, and not to even try.

I really want icons of GL butts now.

LOL. You have lots to choose from! Sometimes they're so round it's inhuman...on the humans. *g*

Yeah. I'm really going to have to learn to be a bit looser with the whole canon and timeline stuff for comics fandoms, aren't I?

So true. But once you get used to it, it's so freeing. You can basically say in your author's notes, "I didn't like this...so it didn't happen!" and no one minds. *g* I've seen a lot of fics that are like, "Canon: Unspecified. Or aggregate. Whatever." And people just basically write the collection of canon that they have in their head, even if none of the timelines match up to issues.

Easier said than done, I know, but nice once you get there! Sometimes I forget that I had a good year and a half in Steve/Tony fandom to get me used to how comics fandoms work. :-)
