NCIS Love Meme
Apr. 5th, 2010 10:33 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
So the NCIS fandom has been on the verge of a wanksplosion recently. In an attempt to put some fun back in the fandom, I thought it was time for a love meme.
Rules:
1) Only fluffy posts allowed. No negativity or wank baiting. Any negative posts will be deleted and if a thread starts getting negative, it will be frozen. If you can't find anything nice to say, please feel free to go start your own meme.
2) Posts can be anon (I've turned off the IP tracker for this post). They do not have to be anon though.
3) Love posts can be about the show, the actors, fanworks and fellow fans. They can also include picspams.
4) Have fun!

on 2010-04-05 07:32 pm (UTC)2) There was wank in NCIS fandom? Seriously? I feel so out of it, but in this case, I'm glad.
3) Is it supposed to show an LA address in your "current location" field? (just wondering)

on 2010-04-05 07:52 pm (UTC)2) It's been on a lot of other forums and a lot of folks complaining about other folks in various places on LJ. Be happy you're out of it.
3) My LJ app for my phone hates me today. Not my address, so I'm not going to worry about it for now. :)

on 2010-04-05 08:06 pm (UTC)Hmm, where to start! I have had so many fantastic experiences in this fandom since joining it. Everyone was so incredibly welcoming to start with - they made me feel at home from the very beginning. It's not a snobby, cliquey fandom - I've met some wonderful, genuine people.
People like Kaylashay, Spoonyriffic, TaylorGibbs, Tejas, Annieb, Bananacosmic, and you, Webbgirl - you were all so nice to me when I first got into this fandom and didn't know any people here. I've met tons of great people since then - too many to mention by name but so many friendly, kind, wonderful people.
I love the wide range of pairings in this fandom - I love that on the newsletter every day there are so many different pairings represented. The diversity is one of the things I've always loved about NCIS as a fandom. I've never hidden the fact that I'm not in favour of any canon pairings, but I've always enjoyed the range of fanon pairings - and how nicely everyone played in the same sandbox.
I love everyone who hurts Tony and then wraps him up in big blankets of warmest comfort. I love the people who make fantastic music vids, like Luthien and Banbury. I love all the really funny crack fics people write. I love Sasha for writing so many wonderful spanky fics and wish more people would write them *g*.
I love how classy, well organised, and friendly the LJ NCIS awards were last year - the mods worked so hard and were unfailingly polite and friendly whenever they contacted me.
I love all the great people who engage with my stories and leave me such nice feedback. I love all the people who chat to me about the show, especially when I made a great big rambly post, full of squee, about "Flesh and Blood" *g*.
This is the nicest fandom I've ever been in. I love so much about it :-)
I'm sure I'll come back and do another love post about the show, but I wanted to do something about the fandom to start with.

on 2010-04-05 08:16 pm (UTC)And I love it when NCIS leaves stuff to our imagination. It's all about the subtext, baby!
And the characters make such a wonderful team. They're like a family. I love that bond they have. The dynamic seems really realistic. Some damn fine acting going on there.

on 2010-04-05 08:24 pm (UTC)I love a competent, mature Tony, like we saw in Flesh and Blood. I also love the bond between Gibbs and Tony that we saw during that epi.
I really enjoy all of the friendships that I have made through this fandom.
I love working on the NCIS Newsletter and being a mod of the
I also love all the creativity and the variety of fanfiction and Artwork that this fandom produces. All of the authors/artists are really some of the most creative people that I have ever seen.

on 2010-04-05 09:23 pm (UTC)1. All the people - the writers, betas, and readers - so much talent, kindness, and enthusiasm - what's not to love??!!??!!
2. The generosity that's been shown to me as a relative newcomer to fanfiction and this fandom in particular
3. The joy of waking up in the morning and discovering that one of my favorite authors has posted something new
4. NCIS the show
5. Jethro Gibbs/Mark Harmon in particular
6. Tony DiNozzo/Michael Weatherly - even more particularly
7. And all the other characters/actors that populate the show and make it unique!

on 2010-04-05 11:25 pm (UTC)I love when Gibbs and Tony can communicate something to eachother with just a look.
I love it when Tony wears his shoulder holster!
I love when Tony makes that whimpering noise when Gibbs smacks him on the head.
I love it when Tony connects the seemingly unrelated dots and solves the case. Heck, I just love Tony in general. He's my favorite, I'm not gonna lie.
I love it when Tim and Tony playfight.
I love seeing Gibbs working on his boat.
I love it when Abby imitates Gibbs.
I love it whenever I see the team eating something. I don't know why, I just do. Chinese, Pizza, sandwhiches, it doesn't matter.
I love the McNicknames.
I love Ducky's bowties.
I adore Bert the Hippo.
I love the way Tim says, "But you hate nougat" when Abby asks the team for a dollar in episode 'Skeletons'.
I love the saying 'Work smarter, not harder'
and I love that remembering Tony's advice makes me smile and stress out less.
I LOVE PALMER <3. I love to cringe at the things Palmer says.
I love Chained, Twilight, Kill Ari parts 1 and 2, Bait, Twisted Sister, See No Evil, Mind Games, Bloodbath, Heatland, Red Cell, Internal Affairs, Flesh and Blood, Frame Up, Friends and Lovers, Call of Silence and many others.
I admire Mark H. and Pauley P.
I think Sean M. and Michael W. are hilarious. I would love to see a commentary with the two of them.
I love it when Michael and Pauley go off topic in their commentaries.
I love it when they talk about tea, and Mark Harmon's silver yamaluke and how everyone looks orange.
I crack up everytime I watch the commentary for 'Friends and Lovers' when Sean M. says, "you can see my whole booties". And when he and Cote call each other Boo.
I love it when Mark H. smiles. He has a wonderful smile.
I can't get enough of this show :)

on 2010-04-05 11:57 pm (UTC)The fandom and friends I've made it it :)
The writers and diversity of stories :)
Robert Wagner as ADD sr. GENIUS!
Mark Harmon as Gibbs and Michael Weatherly as DiNozzo. There can be no more perfect actors for those roles. That goes for David and Pauley as well :)
The Gibbs/DiNozzo bond. However you see it :)
The insane amount of subtext the show gives us.

on 2010-04-06 03:04 am (UTC)I love the team aspect of the show. I love the family vibe they've got going on, and the banter, and the fierce loyalty.
I love the relationship between Tony and Gibbs. Be it slash, friendship, father/son, whatever - it's all golden for me, and I absolutely adore it.
Tony and Jimmy's friendship is another one that I love. The live for the hints we get here and there that say they got closer while Gibbs was away in Mexico.
I love Ducky's bowties, and his stories. I just plain love Ducky.
I love Abby. I love the fact that she's wicked smart, with a sharp tongue and a happy-go-lucky personality. I love her propensity to blast music.
I even love when Gibbs gets irritated and turns it off.
I love when Gibbs and Abby sign to each other.
I love the little squeak/whimper/grunt that Tony makes whenever Gibbs headslaps him. I love that they have a steak night.
I love Jackson. A lot. He's the best dad ever, and Ralph Waite is the bomb.
DiNozzo Sr. isn't too shabby either - Rober Wagner is amazing.
I love it when Tony goes undercover. Chained is one of my favorite episodes ever. Michael Weatherly's acting is amazing in it.
Michael Weatherly himself is just plain awesome, along with everyone else in the cast.
I love all the fanworks that this fandom produces. Everything from fic to graphics to videos, it's all great, and it makes me happy to see it.
I love all of the people that I've met through NCIS. They're all so nice, welcoming, funny, and totally awesome.
This fandom is brilliant, and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

on 2010-04-06 04:11 am (UTC)I love that the cast of the show seems as nice in real life as they are on the show - probably one of the reasons it jells so well on screen.
But the thing I love the most is how enjoyable my first venture into fandom has been and that is thanks to all of you! I have to echo what several others have said about the fandom. Before NCIS, I had never participated in anything like this and everyone was so friendly and welcoming and I have met so many wonderful friends, and read so many wonderful fics, thanks to our mutual appreciation of the show. I can't possibly list you all but you know who you are and I love you guys!

on 2010-04-06 07:36 am (UTC)But more than that, I adore the fandom. Though I've been involved in several fandoms before, I've never felt so welcome in a fandom as I felt here. It was through the NCIS fandom I really started being active on LJ - modding, writing fanfic, interacting with other people, and starting the NCIS Awards - and I am immensely grateful for the people I've met. Nakeisha, Xanthe, Webbgirl, murgy31 and of course my wonderful beta, Triskellion, as well as a whole bunch of others.
I love being able to give back through the NCIS Awards, because that's such a specific way to show appreciation to everyone who produces such fantastic fanfic, which I've spent so, so many hours reading.
I adore all the hurt/comfort fics, especially with Tony getting whumped. I love all the people who can make me cry with fanfic, or laugh out loud, or just make me feel such a wide range of feelings of any kind.
I love the diversity of the fandom, with all the pairings and the different views people have on the show. It's a rare thing and it should be treasured, not fought.

on 2010-04-08 02:48 am (UTC)I love the stories of all kinds that expend our NCIS world.
I adore Jackson Gibbs.
I love how NCIS absorbs people and makes them it's own.
I think Jimmmy is cuter than baby bunnies.
Mark Harmon's smile, Michael Weatherly's eyes when he gives that little boy grin, Pauley's lovely expressive eyes
I want to listen to Ducky's stories in from of a fire some cold winter's night.
I love it when Abby and Gibbs sign.
I love it when the team defends each other against all comers no matter how much they may fight like siblings.
I love that no matter how much something might not make me a happy camper in a show or thread I still LOVE the show and the characters. I want them all to come to my house for Thanksgiving.
I love how everyone I have spokrn too in this group has always made me feel welcome.
gentle journey,

on 2010-04-08 03:51 pm (UTC)I love the diversity this fandom offers. I especially love that there are numerous sources and stories taking the NCIS characters and placing them in a lifestyle that my life partially evolves around.
I love that Xanthe basically created a new genre of fanfic (BDSM universes) that had previously only been a fantasy of mine.
I love Sarkywoman's Kink meme and I think it's pretty much the best thing invented since Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cereal.
I love Fanart Series image manipulations.
Now,on to NCIS, itself.
I love Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Subtext. I love that their is plenty between all the character's regardless of who you ship
I love that I never know whether I'll be shipping Gibbs/Tony or McGee/Tony on an episode until after the episode is over. Sometimes I even ship Gibbs/McGee/Tony and I love that it is perfectly normal in thing to do in this fandom.
Most of all I love this show and participating in this fandom ; >
