An interesting article about how unused fleece from alpacas is being used to help clean up the oil spill in the gulf. Alpacas - Not just feeding knitting addiction anymore.

Speaking of knitting...I have this awesomesauce Malabrigo and for the life of me I can't figure out what I want to do with it. I know, totaly First World problem, but it's one of those things driving me nuts. I have five skeins so I feel like it's too much to just make a scarf and hat from. Plus the yarn deserves better than that since I rarely get to wear such things.

I'm thinking of doing another cardi like the one I'm making now. However, the thought of all those rows of stockinette again make me want to jab one of my needles in my eye. I'm also thinking of a lacework type stole, but I can't figure out one that I want to do. *sigh*

Anyway, pic of the yarn...

I'm donating handmade scarves to Operation Gratitude, will deliver them at Fanfest. The soldiers love the handmade things, they're very special.

Okay, I bought the yarn - Mom, the 83-year-old knitting machine is doing the knitting. If I tried to knit, it would take a year.

That's a gorgeous sweater, and the yarn looks way cool. I wish I could find a yarn store around me, I end up ordering online and the only yarn I know is Lion's Brand.

Scarves I can knock out, but endless rows of stockinette make me batty.

Also, thanks on the sweater. I'm hoping to finish it soonish and focus on a lace stole I'm doing and possibly the new sweater with the yarn.

It's Malabrigo which is Merino wool. It's pretty much the softest stuff around. Not cheap (at all) but yummy to work with.

What about one of the Chic Knits cardis?

I really like their stuff. I want to do one of the vests/tanks they have.

I'm actually seriously pondering the February Lady now and do some modifications on it. I've always hesitated on that one because of where the yoke hits on the boobs. I may shorten it a bit so the lace starts sooner.

The new vest is adorable but I don't think the pattern is out yet.

February Lady is cute, but as you say it really needs to be customized for everyone individually.
