As most of you know, Joe Flannigan has now been announced for Vancouver. YAY!!!!! I'm looking forward to new con stories.

I have slightly mixed feelings about Chris and Michael appearing on the same day now. They have a great energy together, but Chris tends to suck up all the oxygen in the room and Michael seems like he's kind of along for the ride when they're together.

Oh, and I have kind of a stupid question for my flist. Should I be looking for someplace at LAX to exchange my money, or should I wait until I land in Vancouver? I have to be at the airport by 8 at the latest (that's right folks, I get to go to LAX during morning rush hour) which means I have to leave pretty freakin early in the morning. The less time I have to spend doing stuff at LAX, the better.

24 hours from now I'll be in Canada!!!! YAYYYYYY!

On the advice from friends, we exchanged our money at the hotel. We were told that is the best place to get a good rate, and the airport is the worst. I just looked and the current exchange rate is 1.24 Canadian per USD.

Wait until you get here to exchange your cash. I mean, if you're exchanging US for CDN, anyway. Everyone takes American here. You get better exchange rates in some places than others, but even your coinage works in all vending machines, etc. (You know, in an emergency.) Do some rate shopping; you should get a better rate at a proper bank than at your hotel. (Stay away from shops and restaurants, though; they're no bargain.) You can also pay by Interac most everywhere, so shouldn't need to bring loads of cash (which is a bit less anxiety-inducing). And if in doubt, use your credit card; their exchange rates can be good.

Hope you have a great time, and that the weather improves a little for you. It's been a bit wet and windy of late, but it's April: it can change every 15 minutes or so.
