A few boring pics
Apr. 9th, 2005 09:00 pmThought I'd share photos of my trip(s) as I go along from L.A. to Vancouver to Vegas (that's a small possibility for a couple of days at the moment) to New Orleans. I won't post pics every day since that would just bore everyone to tears. I am, however splitting the first couple of days into two posts since I'm just too tired to edit the pics from today yet.
I will say the highlight for today was the shuttle ride back to the hotel with three EXTREMELY goregeous men (gay, natch) who were discussing their plans to go tanning and then to the Pleasure Chest. If you've never heard of the Pleasure Chest, it's an adult toy store with all kinds of stuff. One was promising his boyfriend what he would get for him if he was good. No, of course I didn't have all sorts of pervy thoughts or anything.
The lowlight, discovering that you're in a theme park with hundreds ofankle-biters lovely young children waiting for a Wiggles concert to start. Oy, never get in the way of a 4 year old and his Wiggles. Also, as a note to parents out there thinking of taking their kids to Universal Studios...while you might find the Goblin amusing, chances are your 4 year old will not. The guy is scary as hell to a little kid. As evidenced by the young child screeching and hauling tail in the other direction as fast as his little legs would carry him.
In deference to those with dial-up, I've posted the links to the pics on my site instead of embedding them in the post.
Took off on the train
Got to the hotel
Got in a little late so...
Got up and checked out the view from the room
went to Citywalk
Saw the locals
Then got to the important stuff*
Then got to the REALLY important stuff
Went back and hung out at the pool for the rest of the day. Sorry folks, no pics of this. I was busy napping poolside.
*Those of you not from Southern California or who've never had a Tommy Burger...my sincerest condolences. They are they BEST freakin burgers around. I can't believe it's been soooo long since I'd had one.

on 2005-04-10 01:53 pm (UTC)Did you try Jodi Maronis? The sausage sandwiches are pretty tasty. It used to be on City Walk but I haven't been there quite a while. Also, the bowling alley is unique.
Will try to be better at logging into LJ so I can see your trip pics.

on 2005-04-10 05:35 pm (UTC)I haven't been to Tommy's yet. Perhaps in the nearish future, you and the other SoCal Nomad Natives (which is to say, everyone else but me) can introduce me to the Wonder That Is Tommy's?
Hmm. Maybe I'll take my ankle-biters to City Walk. Haven't been there in ten years or so.
