I have a serious WTF about some of these books and why they're on the list.  "Where's Waldo?"?  I remember my friends and I sneaking around copies of "Deenie" and "Are You There God, It's Me Margret?" when I was in 5th or 6th grade.  There was a whole kerfuffle about the fact that the bookmobile had even carried them.  So naturally we wanted to read them.

I wrote one of my best bullshit reports *ever* on "Lord of the Flies" my sophomore year in high school.  (I wrote it during geometry class, which might help explain why I did much better in English class.)

This list totally makes me want to go back and read a lot of these.
