I actually spent time out in the real world this weekend. Away from the laptop. (Okay, there was also time dedicated to Sims2 since I finally re-loaded all of my expansion packs. I love my Sims.)
On Saturday I gotconned convinced to go to the Cemetary for a movie (which I normally love) but the movie was The Warriors. If you've never seen The Warriors, there are no adequate words to describe the plot. Just know that my subject line is one of the many memorable quotes. My dislike of this movie is strong, yet I let myself be dragged by promises of much alcohol. It was actually kind of fun. I couldn't believe how crowded it was though. There had to have been at least 3,000 people there. Apparently they've all subjected themselves to multiple viewings of the movie since they were quoting lines. It was like a weird Rocky Horror experience. (Which I would LOVE if they ever showed Rocky Horror there, but I can't imagine how huge the crowd would get for that!)
Sunday went to brunch with friends and watched folks wandering up and down West 3rd showing off their dogs. Sundays on West 3rd is an interesting experience. It's like some strange social ritual that goes on in front of all of the restaurants as people have brunch.
Yesterday was spent hanging out at the Grove and Farmer's Market with eleventy jillion other folks.
Still feeling a bit (though not overly) anti-social, but hopefully that will wear off during the week. There's a big Greek Festival next weekend and a promise of cute boys.
Tonight I'll be Simming again and trying out the new show on Fox with Ron "I find him hot in a weird but overwhelming way" Livingston.
Also? As a bizarre side note...It struck me this morning as I was waiting for the bus for work that the billboards for CSI:Miami and CSI:NY (which doesn't include Danny, much to my dismay) remind me of wallpapers that someone on LJ would do. I don't mean that in a totally bad way. It's just the composition of them is very...fannish? It's hard to describe. I'll see if I can take pics of one of the 5,000 that are near my place this week and post them. Maybe I'll do a poll to see which ones folks like best. Because yes, I'm just that bored.
