I'm Here!!!
Apr. 13th, 2005 04:18 pmJe suis en Canada. YAY.
The flight was nice and relatively uneventfull. The only glitch was that no one could seem to figure out which gate it was leaving from. The guy sitting next to me on the flight was really nice. He lives in L.A. and his daughter goes to school at UBC.
Customs line was insanely long, but there were very hot guys asking the questions once you made it through the line. I'm thinking the Vancouver Tourism board is doing their jobs by having the hotties up there. Of course I ended up sounding like an idiot, but y'know.
HCG(Hot Customs Guy): What's your purpose for coming to Vancouver?
Me: Vacation.
HCG: Are you staying in Vancouver?
Me: Yes.
HCG: Do you know anyone here?
Me: No
HCG: Are you meeting anyone here?
Me: Well, sorta. There's a convention.
HCG: What kind of convention.
Me: Um, Stargate.
HCG: I'm sorry,what?
Me: Stargate.
HCG: Oh, so it's like one of those Trekkie things, eh?
Me: *quietly* Um, yeah.
HCG: Cool so you get to hang out with all the aliens for the week. Have fun.
Me: Thanks.
So, I've now officially outed myself as a geek on foreign soil.
The room is beautiful and I'm on the 25th floor so I have a great view. For those of you who know what a hotel snob I am, it exceeded my expectations. Plus MacGyver came on when I turned the TV on. What more could a geek!girl ask for? (Hmmm...there's also Law and Order en francais.)
Oh, and a big THANKS for those who helped with the whole money exchanging thing.
