Crappy Days

webbgirlI took my mom to lunch today. It was a belated birthday lunch for her. When we got there she said that my grandmother had called her last night around 8:30.
Basically from the conversation my mom figured out that my brother had shown up at my grandmother's house. You have to understand my family's relationship with my brother. He's been in trouble since he was 14. He's 38 now. He's been in and out of jail for various things, drugs the whole shebang.
He's stollen from almost every member of my family and there's a definite strain there, but it's a relationship that's never really broken. Somehow, we've always found a way to deal with each other.
Anyway, my mom went over to my grandmother's house and it turns out that my brother is HIV positive. Not sure exactly when he contracted it. Probably when he got one of his tattoos in prison.
I haven't seen or spoken to my brother yet and I'm not sure when, if I will in the near future. Basically, still a little stunned and entirely unsure on how to deal with all this.
