A device that delivered a shock through the keyboard every time someone posts the phrase "Sorry if this isn't allowed" or "Mods please delete if not allowed" to a community.
How hard is it to read the rules for a comm and see if what you want to post is addressed? And if something is in a gray area but one reeeally feels compelled to post it anyway, EMAIL THE MODS! That's what they're there for. This is also why lurking for awhile isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Hem. I should really head to bed. I'm clearly cranky.

on 2008-06-29 02:25 pm (UTC)Word. Oddly enough I've only had problems in my very specific small fandom fest and flashfic comms, where I clearly state no OT posts, and still...
OTOH, I was once taken to task for posting something in a comm that wasn't allowed, even though the rules didn't actually say it wasn't allowed. I was like, how was I supposed to know that? My mind reading skills aren't what they used to be. And also, thanks for being so polite when you told me it wasn't allowed, loved the sarcasm, and also, fix your freaking rules! Okay, done ranting in your journal. *g*
