Iron Man ROCKED! More than a huge rocking thing.
John Favreau did an awesome job. I thought the movie was paced really well and the overall look and feel were just awesome. It was the best parts of a straight up action movie and a comic book movie.
RDJ was great. I can't picture anyone else ever playing Tony Stark for the entirety of time now. It was like he was born to play that role. He's looking mighty fine too!
I loved being able to recognize the bits and pieces that they'd pulled from Extremis and other storylines. The scene in the middle of the street with the truck was actually still pretty fresh in my brain from reading the book.
At some point I'm hoping I can do a more coherent review with actual plot points etc, but I'm functioning on little sleep and much squee right now.
Tony/Rhody = OTP!!!!
Those of you that have seen it and stayed through the credits get my subject name. Those who didn't stay through the credits, I'm very sad for you. That minute alone was worth the admission price. I don't think I could have squeed any louder at it. If you're reading this and haven't seen the movie yet, WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE CREDITS!!!!! Especially if you're even the most casual of Marvel comic fans.
I need a movie Iron Man icon now.

Complete girly squee. RDJ couldn't have been more awesome. He's scarily talented when he's wasted, even more so when he's clean and sober.
Know exactly what you mean about Tony and Rhody. Toadally!
SOOO glad you enjoyed it :oD
See you in a couple of weeks.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW went to see Ze Barrowman today. The kids had some lush pics taken with him, but the virtual queue was up to 1600 and we didn't get a ticket so an auto was out of the question.
The odd thing was, the charisma didn't come over me in waves, he just looked like an attractive regular guy and I think I liked that more than anything.

on 2008-05-05 02:31 am (UTC)I had no prior comic knowledge of this series and I just really appreciated the whole origin story and the wonderful characters. And Paul Bettany as the computerized Alfred was awesome! In fact my only complaint was that they had to pick THAT car for him to demolish- there were at least 5 others they could have chosen!!
