I'm Baaaack...
Aug. 30th, 2004 09:52 amHi Everybody...
I'm back (at least temporarily) from my internetless hiatus. I'm housesitting for my mom this week, so I've got access to the 'net again.
Hitting the really quick highlights...Got back from Sacramento last night. Was there with a few of the other
fandom_nomads for the Sci-Fi convention. We had a blast as always. We're not sure if we've officially scared Michael Shanks or not though. During the brunch we we busy playing cards and having beer (which is the norm for us no matter where we go) and a couple of the actors weren't quite sure what to make of us.
Nana Visitor did decide that we were the fun table. (That could have had something to do with us being loud too.) No visits from hotel security this trip, but I did get stopped by airport security due to the unusual bottle opener I was packing. We had picked it up at Cost Plus the night before since we needed something to open all the beer. The opener has been dubbed 'Smutenkamen' since he looks like some odd fertility god and has a huge hole where his ass should be. Yeah, like a slasher isn't going to pick up on that one.
Michael Shanks was beautiful as always. He also appeared to be well rested this time through, even though he had just flown in from a con in Chicago the night before. He made a joking comment at the brunch that we just bring him beer to court favor from him. He didn't seem to understand that we're pretty much like that with everyone. (Okay, even more so with Chris Judge, because we've decided that with his Adult ADD and penchant for adult beverages, he's pretty much one of us.)
I was happy to hear Michael say that Sci Fi definitely wants a season 9 of SG-1. They're just working out the cash issues at this point. I was also happy to hear that the last 5 episodes of Season 8 are under tight wraps at the moment. He alluded to the fact that they may be making changes to scripts.
That's about it for the moment. I'll be back later for more ramblings. I have several weeks worth to get out of my system.
