My brain is off somewhere on vacation still without me.  Dammit!  I want to go with it.

I've been forgetting things like crazy over the last week and it's driving me nuts.

Of course, the fact that Sims 2 "Seasons" is now on my laptop may have a little something to do with it.  The expansion pack is fun.  I'm still discovering various things and playing with the weather controls.  I'll post some pics once I can get the freakin' things uploaded.  I'm having issues with that lately for some reason.

I finally watched "The Black Donnellys" last night.  I reeeeaaally like this show.  Not in a fandom sense (though I have plot bunnies for Flack and Danny on CSI:NY after watching), but in terms of it being just a really well written and acted show.  It's definitely more violent than most network TV (except maybe 24) but the violence isn't the main point.  The motivations of the characters is kind of cool to watch.

Anyway, I totally recommend.  (I do predict the 'cest fic with the brothers to start hitting the net in 5...4...3...2...)

ETA: My favorite quote from the episode...
The Irish have always been victims of negative stereotypes. People think we're all drunks and brawlers. Sometimes it gets you so mad, all you want to do is get drunk and punch somebody.

My poor brain is already being eaten alive by The Black Donnellys. In fact, I've already written a fic for it...and yeah, it's incesty. :P I've got a Tommy/Kevin thing going on. It's a fantastic show.

I still have it on my DVR and am totally watching it again tonight.

I'm really excited that they put it on after Heroes, because that's going to make for an AWESOME Monday night.

Yeah, the whole scene at the elevator when Tommy asks Kevin where he's going? I can see how that leads to the cest.

Yeah, I spent a good deal of time on the net right after watching it the first time looking for icons and joining every possible community I could for it. I've even decked my journal out with a header from the show. Tommy owns me, seriously. Between Prison Break and this show, Mondays are rivaling Thursdays now as the best night of television.

Gah! Sims2 Seasons is out? I'll have to wait until next Friday to get it.

I saw most of The Black Donnellys last night too. I agree with you about the show. The characters are fascinating.

It came out this week. I had pre-ordered it as a download, so I got it as soon as it was released.

It's pretty fun with new objects. Though, gardening is freakin hard work man!

I love the writing and characters on the show. Plus it has twists without seeming overly gimmicky. (Plus, I've got mad love for anything to do with Black Irish Catholic boys from New York...is that an odd predilection?)

What ARE "black irish" anyhow? I never quite understood that.

It's an American/Canadian term for Irish with black or dark brown hair instead of the usual red or blond. The legend is that they're decended from Spanish sailors who crashed on the Western part of the island waaay back when. Though, there were supposedly only 100 sailors who survived, so the likelihood of them having a genetic impact on the population for this long is slim. The other legend is that they're decended from the first inhabitants of Ireland before the Celts and Saxons arrived.

yeah, the Guy and I watched it last night. We almost DIDN'T give the show a chance with all the pretty-promos going on, but now we're glad we did. The blond brother is NOT dead, right? But the artist brother, Tom? *thought* he was, so that's why he went and kakked that Italian in the bar?

I might have to rewatch it, if it repeats that episode. I wasn't exactly at my most awake, damn it.

I'm probably re-watching tonight because I missed parts. I'll report back specifics to you later. I'm pretty sure the young one isn't dead.

Jimmy is the one that shot the kidnapped guy. I'm not sure if he thought the youngest one was dead or not.

Tommy killed the mob guys becuase they were going to kill Jimmy.

Hey, I'd like to pimp Sweet Charity at ncisfic -
details can be found here: http://www.sweet-charity.net/index.php?set=home

Basically, right now we're looking for fanfic writers, graphic artists, etc to offer to sell their talents to benefit RAINN -- bidding will start later in the month. This is the third time lithiumdoll's done it, and the kinks are pretty well worked out (knock on wood).

Thanks.
