Last Night's NCIS

No real squee about last night's ep, just some thoughts.
The whole Tony/Jeanne thing is starting to bug. Not because I dislike her (I'm rather neutral about her at this point), but because of the way they keep teasing with it. There have been indications all along that she was somehow involved in an assignment that Tony has been working. These hints are problematic no matter how it turns out.
1) If it turns out that Jeanne really is an assignment for Tony, protection or spying, then he crossed a professional line when he fell for her. It happens and this is actually the lesser of two evils for me and I still think the more likely scenario. If this is the case though, I'm still sticking with the 'Little Joe' scenario where she dies come season finale. Granted, she could just give him the big kiss off for lying to her this whole time...but knowing DPB, he's going to go for the more dramatic.
2) If it turns out that she's not part of a case (which I don't really see happening), and he really is just dating and falling in love with her? This will most likely be my last season for watching. If he's not having to see her as part of a case, that means that he's been ditching work for personal reasons and lying about it. Lying to her about his name and presumably his job. And he's been lying to his friends. After such a great view of competent!Tony at the end of last season and start of this one...showing him completely screw up like that would be the end for me.
Also? Have we ever heard him pronounce her first name before? Because mentally I was pronouncing it in the Anglicized version, not the French. I was a little surprised last night when I heard him say it. The fact that it is the French pronunciation lends weight to the theory that she's related to La Grenouille.
Speaking of Froggy. I'm still curious as to what happened with him and Jen. She really is looking like either a jilted girlfriend or victim when it comes to dealing with him. Clearly there's something intensely personal going on there.
I'm going to rewatch last night's ep later today because I know there were squeeful moments, but the whole relationship thing has me a bit stuck at the moment.

on 2007-02-14 08:05 pm (UTC)Maybe somehow he's involved in the reason she dumped Gibbs.
You gotta admit that's a sexy Armand Assante. I'd like to have that picture on my wall. Rowr!

on 2007-02-14 08:09 pm (UTC)IF Jeanne isn't part of Tony's assignment? Then DBP has completely OOC'd Tony as a "fool for love". I
hope he wouldn'tdoubt he would do that.Re: Oh yeah, and secondly...

on 2007-02-14 08:26 pm (UTC)'Did you ask her to marry you?'
'No'
'Are you going to?'
'No'
'Why not?'
'Because I couldn't live a lie.'
I'd go with door number one. Also with her having a French name I'm going with her being related, probably the daughter of Froggy who I'm assuming is a Canadian Frog rather than a French Frog. Last week's meet was in Quebec and Armand did look as if he was on home turf (and yes, tres sexy as well!) It's definitely very personal, private and painful between him and Jenny. Looking forward to finding out why.
The whole Jeanne/Tony thing is beginning to grate with me, too. The fact that he's been lying to Gibbs to begin with doesn't ring true with what we know about Tony. His loyalty would be to Gibbs more than Jenny IMO as pissed as he must have been that Gibbs just sodded off to Mexico. I'm still not sure what's gone on between those two (Tony and Jenny). I can't see them having gotten down and dirty because... well, just because. I have no real reasoning behind it. I think Jenny just took Tony under her wing a bit after Gibbs left. As if they'd both been abandoned. I was a bit confused last week though with the 'we know each other so well, there are no awkward moments'.
Sorry, I'm digressing. I hope the whole deal crashes and burns and soon. No ship, thank you so much, I've only put up with Ms Benoit for this long because I figured it was part of a plot. I'd rather do my own shipping if it's all the same. And on the subject of my OTP, where is all the makeup sex from the confession last week? Is there lovely fic around that I'm missing?

on 2007-02-14 08:33 pm (UTC)I'm annoyed with her largely because Tony sleeping with her/on her couch messes with my ability to think of him getting it on with his coworkers right after the episodes. Is that shallow?

on 2007-02-14 08:45 pm (UTC)And ohhhh, the angst that we fans must be suffering now because WE know this and Tony doesn't!
And all the times Tony slipped away to screw around with her was just for him, not an undercover op? I am so losing respect for this storyline. Not that I had a whole lot, but still.
I was itching to take a pair of scissors and snip half that restaurant scene, they finally had an interesting case, they should have run with that instead of the mush that beat me over the head.
You know, I posted elsewhere to please excuse my snark because I had just watched House, but apparently a day later, I can't put the blame on that.
Loved the Gibbs scenes though. Elevator conference, yay! That smirk when he nailed the junkie's confession, anyone have a cap of that?
Dragging Lee into the Director's office, oooh, did anyone have principal office flashbacks? Right, right, me neither. *cough*
Lee's knife-throwing abilities were a definitely good one too. Hee. Not to mention McGee going into that club.

on 2007-02-14 10:17 pm (UTC)Lying for love could be another part of Ducky's comment to Tony once that Gibbs used to be a lot like Tony.
I kept getting phone calls during this, so I missed some bits. If I understood it correctly, the dead military guy was the one who murdered the women, and almost murdered another one at the secret club but was literally given a taste of his own medicine by the club owner. So why did the club owner break her neck?
