Unfortunately, there's no chemistry between the main couple really.  Or maybe it's the way they introduced them.  I agree with [profile] jesshelga that I would much rather see Ron Livingston's eyebrows hook up with the Gina Torres character.  But that's because she's a goddess.
Another problem was that they tried to do two distinct storylines in the pilot.  Clearly that was way too much for the writers to handle.  Neither of them were spectacular premises (premi ?) to begin with, but I think that trying to do a crisis with 'All American Actor Dad' (fka Luke Duke) who wants to kill himself for what seem to be fuzzy reasons to begin with and a storyline with 'Mommy never loved me' spoiled kid turned Muslim (WTF?) was just a bit too much.
I'm hoping that this will be like other shows that just took a couple of eps to get it's footing (we all know that you can't go more than 2 to 3 anymore before the axe falls, especially on FOX).  I would really LOVE to be able to stare at Ron Livingston and his amazing Eyebrows every week.

I've been avoiding commenting on the spoilers for the CSI:NY premiere, but I feel like I need to get it out of my system. I'm not wholesale against the idea of Mac getting some lovin'.  Really.  He's hot.  He deserves it.  My slash goggles are sturdy enough to withstand any such entanglement.  My issue is with how they're doing it.  The whole retcon thing with the Peyton character just bugs me.  I feel like A) the writers are trying to cheat by bypassing all of the initial relationship stuff, B) we get screwed out of seeing any Mac character development that could have come from such a relationship, and C) it messes with previous canon.  Essentially for Mac we go from the end of S1 where he's nervous about just having dinner with someone to now where we're supposed to believe that not long after that, he hooked up with this woman who he used to work with.  I have issues with Mac just suddenly being okay with that.
I guess we'll see what happens with that and the whole Danny/Lindsay and Lindsay's secret past, and more of the Danny's got a past thing.  *sigh*  Maybe this will help weed out my TV viewing in the long run though.

I agree with the folks who aren't thrilled about why Gibbs is coming back (to help Ziva) but it's not necessarily upsetting news for me.  I'm used to getting yanked around and screwed over by Bellisario, so I'm properly prepared (lots of lube).  What bugs me are the insinuations that there may be something that happened between Ziva and Tony.  Again, I have sturdy slash goggles, so I'm good for that.  The problem is that DPBs female characters tend to delve into whiny, bitchy, needy territory when they get anywhere near a relationship.  (See Mac from JAG.)  The men surrounding them tend to get stupid or fawny at the same time (again with JAG).  The exception to that is if the woman is already set up on the Mommy/Saint track.  Apparently he really does have a whole Madonna/Whore issue going.
Anyway, I was just starting to kind of like Ziva and I have the feeling that like isn't going to last very long if things head in that direction.
Then again, it could be DPB with the chain yanking, yet again.

New PRun tonight!  Hopefully someone will make Jeffrey cry like the whiny little bitch that he is and he'll get sent home!

I think it will be chain-yanking. DPB has said repeatedly that he doesn't plan to get into a Mac/Harm situation with NCIS. If (heavens forfend) Ziva and Tony did hook up (not that I remotely believe that such a thing is possible), it would have been a one-time, huge mistake kind of thing. Probably Gibbs-related in some way.

Please pass the lube.

::passes lube::

I think you're right about chain yanking, but he said the same thing with Harm and Mac before they happened and then when tumbling down that slippery slope full speed. (Why no, I'm not still bitter about that whole thing at all.)

If it's a one-night, drunken thing I could deal with that. It might even be interesting if done the right way.

Me, too, but I'm hoping that Ziva's answer to the question is a huge resounding 'no!' I didn't see the pics that well - could they even have been taken during their undercover gig? Or something taken out of context? God, I hope so!!

*sigh* Whyohwhy in the wide world of why do they always have to do that??? (leading man with leading lady). I mean, is there some centuries old dramatic convention that *says* they have to? Fingers crossed that they don't, because I'm really getting into this (and I blame you, webbgirl btw)/

Was watching 'the one where' a supermodel was killed doing a reality show. "Ask them to sign it 'to Big D'" LOL!!! And the headslapping is so intimate and so CUTE! *lufs* I couldn't stop thinking of the icon 'And you're still clothed *why* DiNozzo?' *beg*

*hee* I won't apologize for my pimping on that one.

I'm just really hoping that it's the writers screwing with everyone's minds before the season starts. (The showrunner is infamous for that sort of thing.)

So glad you like. And YES on the headslap. Headslap=Love!

Didn't Gina Torres play Jasmine in Angel, too? Making this *Divine* thang a bit of a habit, no? ;o) Loved her as Zoe in Firefly. Much coolness.

Sadly, no one followed through with your request and made that friggin' douche cry. I think Nina lurves him and wants to marry his neck tattoo. That's the only explanation for his continued survival. He's such a toolbox full of f'ing annoying f'ing tools. Also, I hated his dress, and I almost don't care that Tim thought it was great.

Hee, Standoff. Soooooooooo disappointing. But the Eyebrows!!!
