Okay, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] karendreamer now I *HAVE* to go to Comic-Con this year.

Why? http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci07prog_peek.shtml Check the 2:15 to 3:15 time slot.

*SMOOSHES [livejournal.com profile] karendreamer for the news*

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus he's doing a press junket in L.A. in the next couple of weeks.

Wonder if he likes the Farmer's Market...

Okay, so I'm planning on all 4 days at Comic-con at this point.

I mean not only do I get John Barrowman (GUH), but the Heroes gang, LOST, Smallville (which I only watch off and on, but still pretty), SGA and B5!

I also want to actually look at the comic books this time. It seems like I always end up getting so rushed with panels that I never get to look at the comic books.

I'm going to sound like an old woman, but I do get a bit nostalgic for the days when it really was a Comic Book convention. I remember going with my brother the first time when I was 11 or 12. It was in the old Convention Center which is MUCH smaller than the current one. And there were a bunch of guys (and some women) with boxes of comic books and maybe a cardboard cutout to advertise their title. I got to meet Chris Clairmont that year and have him sign my copy of X-Men 137.

It's soooo different now, but still fun with getting to see the various actors and panels. (Though, I'm missing some folks to help me ply the guests with beer and sweet talk security this year. *g*)

According to John Barrowman's website (and the Webmaster) John will be taping Friday Night Project on the 26th of July. (Which I knew, but didn't really connect the dates.)

Dammit! Oh well, I think I'm still going anyway since there are others I want to see there.

There's an article in a North Carolina newspaper about tonight's episodes of Doctor Who on Sci-fi. They're running "Runaway Bride" and "Smith and Jones".

The comment they make about Donna's fiance that he works for Torchwood "a Halliburton type company". Somehow I'd never made that mental connection.

Then again, the same article identifies Martha as a 'Nurse'.

On a happier Comic-con related note: I just noticed that there is a panel on Thursday with Neil Gaiman, Robert Downey Jr., John Favreau and others.

Okay, the more names I see the more re-excited I get about going. *nods*
