webbgirlSo I really need to stop reading Peter Lenkov's tweets. Someone asked him why there was no scene on Monday where we got to see Kono being welcomed back to the team. His answer? Not EVERYTHING happens on screen. We imagine after the walk away they reunited at HQ. What exactly were you expecting? Really? We have to imagine our way through the character moments on the show now? We can watch Joe and Wo Fat beating the crap out of each other, or watch an awkward scene with Lori taping Steve's hands up, but you can't spare 2 minutes to show the team apologizing to Kono because they couldn't be bothered to contact her? Or to thank her for taking the heat from IA on her own?
If I want to "imagine" everything, I'll stick with fanfic. There's really no point in me watching the show.
This isn't the first time he's told viewers they need to "imagine" scenes. He said the same thing about when folks asked about why there wasn't more of a display of emotion (like a kiss) between Steve and Catherine when she left.
Oy. I'm guessing that soon we're pretty much going to have "imagine" Kono getting any lines.
