I wrote up a
review for the website Dear NCIS after watching a preview of the first episode of NCIS:LA,
Identity.
Please keep in mind that I was sick with a cold when I wrote this. :)
I do have some additional thoughts that I'll post here at some point as well.

on 2009-09-15 06:38 pm (UTC)I'm not surprised there wasn't much plot or sense for the characters since that's been a flaw in NCIS itself since SB took over. But here's hoping the show improves!

on 2009-09-15 08:55 pm (UTC)I feel the same way about the plot. Really the issues I had with it were the same ones I've been having with NCIS for awhile now.
I'm hoping that the Sam and G relationship can overcome that.

on 2009-09-15 08:58 pm (UTC)There was a scene where they're going to look through the victim's house and discussing/arguing over what kind of cover they'll use to get in. It's pretty funny and shows a kind of bond and short-hand between them.
I'm definitely anxious to see them move forward with that relationship.

on 2009-09-15 08:59 pm (UTC)Unfortunatley since it was a sneak, I only got to see the episode once. Normally, I'd watch at least twice before doing a review.
I'd read somewhere that they will address it somehow, but it's possible there was a line in there that I just missed.

on 2009-09-16 01:41 am (UTC)I'm glad Hunt's character works, because her addition increased my hopes the show will work out overall. I'm hoping she can add a bit of gravitas to things, at least enough to to balance out the need for "action, action, action!".

on 2009-09-16 04:10 am (UTC)I know they're not trying to copy NCIS too much with the very quirky characters, but it does seem like some of the characters don't have much purpose, but hopefully that will change once things get going.
I'm hoping Hetty and Kensi get a chance to be strong female characters, but I fear you may be right that Kensi is going to be "the girl" and not much else. At least she's not a Mossad Barbie, right?
