I stopped watching WAT on a regular basis for the same reasons. I wish I'd known that he'd been on it.
I feel like the fan-service of Torchwood may ruin me for other shows at this point. And it's not just the squee making stuff like the kissing. If it was just that, I don't think I'd be as happy about that. The fact that it looks like they're going to more fully flesh out the characters and their interactions with each other just makes me beyond happy.
I want to see the Jack/Ianto date for reasons beyond the 'GUH! Hot! factor' (not that I wouldn't look forward to that). The whole reason for first dates is to get to know a person and through Ianto and Jack's interaction on the date, we could get more insight into their characters.
I can't believe how incredibly excited I am for this season of Torchwood.
