So ummm...
Dec. 1st, 2007 08:17 pmLess than 2 months until new Torchwood! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
(Yes, I know that this was announced for BBCAmerica a week or so ago, but they did a voice over with the date during tonight's ep, so it seems more official or something!)
Here's hoping they'll get Who as quickly.

on 2007-12-02 05:00 am (UTC)I'm curious about Who continuity now. Having it on Sci Fi was a good thing, at least so much as that channel having a wider audience, but with the delay for getting Torchwood on BBCA, continuity between the two just went to hell. Folks watching Who on Sci Fi saw Jack getting his answers before they saw him asking the questions on BBCA.
I haven't heard when the next season of DW starts though. Is is airing alongside Torchwood or are they alternating production? If they're alternating, that might work out even if it stays on Sci Fi, because Torchwood will air as it should, and DW will air... sometime. ;)
Rewatching the penultimate episode again and I was stuck by a moment that just gets me every time I see it. Not the kiss itself, but during the dance, you see the real Jack with such a look of longing on his face as they're cheek to cheek. Breaks my heart.

on 2007-12-02 05:06 am (UTC)I was thinking the same thing about the DW continuity, but I have the feeling they're going to treat them as separate entities at this point. I think that's a HUGE mistake.

on 2007-12-02 04:32 pm (UTC)They can probably make more money reselling shows to channels with a wider audience (BBCA is rather limited in availability now), but I think they've finally realized that by having the new shows, they can build their audience, but the delay got everything out of synch.
The timing is in synch if you only watch on BBCA, but Sci Fi has a much larger pool of potential viewers, which in turn could pull in new viewers for Torchwood. BBCA was very smart about this and aired ads for Torchwood on Sci Fi.

on 2007-12-02 04:26 pm (UTC)The way Torchwood ends, Jack's "Doctor Detector" goes off, you hear the TARDIS, and all we're left with is a swirl of paper. That left me with the impression the Doctor (or maybe the TARDIS itself) came for Jack specifically, and was inside Torchwood, so no one would have seen Jack leave.
But the opening of the third season of Who shows Jack outside of Torchwood, running hellbent to the TARDIS. How did he get outside? Surely Torchwood's security systems will catch that?
I had this theory after I first saw the finale that the TARDIS itself, via BadWolf!Rose, did more than sprinkle messages in time (including another Bad Wolf in "Captain Jack Harkness"). It knew what was coming for Jack, and gave him what was needed to survive. Once the confrontation was over, it returned for him. The beginning of Doctor Who buggered that over though.

That's exactly what I thought! And it broke the moment for me because it took me away from the show to ponder the logistics.

on 2007-12-02 11:27 am (UTC)So if it airs 26th for you, it'll hopefully be the same time or just a little before (which will be like Stargate all over again)!
Bet TW will always air quicker cause it's just so damn popular. Not that DW isn't... *wink*
