What a night

So I had a long day at work and was looking forward to getting home and going to the movies with the roommate.
I knew something was up when I was just about home and our street was crammed with traffic. That's unusual even for a Friday. We decided to walk over to the Grove since the traffic was so bad and we saw that Fairfax and 3rd were closed to traffic and there were cops all around. It didn't look like there was an accident so we asked a couple of the police officers what was going on. Apparently someone called in some suspicious packages that were left on 3rd Street and things were blocked off for a bomb threat. Yikes.
We weren't too concerned though since the cops that were walking around didn't have the extra padding or anything. We were joking that someone's script got rejected for the Fall Season so they decided to threaten the Writer's Guild.
We got to the movie and home safely (obviously) but it was a bit weird.
And for the laugh for the day...I saw what might be the funniest bumper sticker ever. At least to me. You know all of those insipid, inspirational stickers like "Let Go, Let God" and "God is my Co-pilot"? I saw one today, "Satan is a pimp. Don't be his ho." I couldn't stop laughing. I think it was more the fact that someone had chosen to put this on their car without a single bit of irony. Of course you know that my LJ name has to be changed now.
