I'm in London (well, West Drayton actually). The flight here was decent though there were a few rough spots turbulence wise on the way. I also have a krik in my neck from being in the plane seat for almost 10 hours. I did get up twice for about 5 minutes a shot to stretch.
I went into central London and did some touristing today. It's funny. I was actually a little 'meh' about seeing London initially. It's just not somewhere I've ever had a burning desire to visit for whatever reason. I'm now officially a convert. As soon as I walked up out of the Picadilly tube station I was in love with the city. I walked around and actually ended up stumbling across a changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. St. James park is gorgeous. I walked all around it and then over to Westminster Abbey and Waterloo. Then I took one of the bus tours around the city. The girl doing the tour was pretty great. She was kind enough to pause and show where Sean Bean got married (apparently his wife was a former tour bus guide so they're all quite proud of her) and she showed the flat where Robbie Williams used to live. Since I was about the only one under 60 I think I had more appreciation that most. *g*
I'm kind of loving how late the sun sets here. Though, it does rise awfully early too. Only those of you who live in latitudes towards the equator will really get that.
I'm going back tomorrow and do some more poking around. I'll post pics once I get them uploaded. Must remember to replace the batteries in my camera tonight.
Also? I've decided that European men in general are my 'thing'. HUMINA!
