I adore the show's earlier seasons, with the great team and the wonderful cases. The banter and the feeling behind it, the adorable goth and the cute probie and the swaggery senior field agent and the rough team leader and-- yeah. :)
But more than that, I adore the fandom. Though I've been involved in several fandoms before, I've never felt so welcome in a fandom as I felt here. It was through the NCIS fandom I really started being active on LJ - modding, writing fanfic, interacting with other people, and starting the NCIS Awards - and I am immensely grateful for the people I've met. Nakeisha, Xanthe, Webbgirl, murgy31 and of course my wonderful beta, Triskellion, as well as a whole bunch of others.
I love being able to give back through the NCIS Awards, because that's such a specific way to show appreciation to everyone who produces such fantastic fanfic, which I've spent so, so many hours reading.
I adore all the hurt/comfort fics, especially with Tony getting whumped. I love all the people who can make me cry with fanfic, or laugh out loud, or just make me feel such a wide range of feelings of any kind.
I love the diversity of the fandom, with all the pairings and the different views people have on the show. It's a rare thing and it should be treasured, not fought.
