Since I've been accused of not properly promoting tourism for Vancouver *g*, thought I'd post a couple of pics. I plan on taking more tomorrow and throughout the weekend. I hope to get better ones of the water and the mountains.

Gastown's great. My cousin teaches at UBC, so I go out to see him once in a while. Haven't been in years, though.

You're somewhere in Alberta, right? I dated a guy from Edmonton for awhile back in college. After we broke up I became a Flames fan out of spite. I'd LOVE to come visit sometime.

I almost got a Terry Fox Looney (sp?) from a woman from Maryland today, then my guilt kicked in and I told her they're evidently kinda special. She decided to keep it.

Thanks. It's a Stargate/Atlantis convention in Metrotown. I'm kinda torn because I want to go to the con and see other folks, but I also kinda want to blow parts of it off and do more sightseeing. *sigh* Nowhere near enough time.

It's an incredible view from the hotel. The whole area is just gorgeous. Can't wait for tomorrow. I'm going to do some serious shopping too.

Am I correct in thinking that you're staying downtown? I puzzled over that for a bit, but I suppose you're taking SkyTrain to the con? That's probably the best plan, actually.

Your pics of Gastown are enormous in the window, although the view out your hotel window isn't. Is that the pics, or my browser?

Right, I'm planning on taking the SkyTrain over. I came more to see the city, plus I got a better package deal with the flight with the Westin.

The pics should be the same size. I know sometimes when they initially open they're huge, but they usually re-adjust to normal size.

we did that during gatecon!

when no one was on that we wanted to see we went sight seeing and since i did get to see the city tour dana took us to some locations he remembered from the tour! and we also went by bridge and took pics in the front :)

its a beautiful city to tour around in!

i want to go back; i envy you i wanted to see gas town never saw it and shopping sounds great!
