NCIS - Reunion
Still probably standing back from the fandom for a bit, but I've decided to at least post my reactions here.
I'm about 15 minutes in and this episode is already leaps and bounds above last week. Not that that would be a difficult task, but still...
I love that Original Cindy is in the ep. Just wish there was more of her.
I'm definitely loving the Tony/Tim thing going on this season. They've got the old spark back between them. They still snipe, but it's more friendly than last season.
Ahhh Ziva. Not a surprise that she wants back. I give the writers props for addressing the issue of Ziva not actually being an agent and recognizing the fact that she wasn't actually an NCIS Agent.
One of the things that I was thinking about after last week's episode was the fact that the 'crime' plot wasn't even really secondary, it was more tertiary. My hope is that that isn't the pattern for the season. Even though this episode still focuses on Ziva getting back, it does give me hope that they will go back to the old formula.
I recognize that there are still plot holes they are never going to fully address, but there's hope that the writers will at least make somewhat of an effort. I won't expect the level it used to be, but it's possible.
Abby - Umm...did the writers essentially take posts from the various boards and turn them into dialogue for her?? Though the Ziva/Abby shippers did get more service again. :) I have mixed feelings about the scene overall.
Shallow: Tony and Tim's clothes this ep? HUMINA!
As much as I like competent!Tony, I have missed his squeaks when he gets headslapped.
LMAO at Gibbs making Tony wait to go to the bathroom. Have the writers been reading the kink meme??
Not so much happy with Ziva lurking in the men's room again. Why do the writers feel it's okay that she has no boundaries? I hate that they feel like they can get away with that kind of stuff because she's female. If a male character tried that, there would be a huge scream.
The conversation was interesting. Tony didn't look at her through most of her little speech and even by the end, there's definitely no hearts and flowers coming from his side of things. Note that in the end, he's still focused on the case.
Yay Tony for saving the homeless guy. The rest of the case was pretty much a see through.
I did like Gibbs getting pissed with Ziva about the Ari situation, but I don't quite get what happened there. First she said 'yes' and then she turns around and runs a guilt trip on him about accusing her. She didn't look shocked at the initial accusation, but I don't get the whole point if it was a lie. These are the kind of things that irritate me with all this intrigue crap.
Also? To service my inner 12 year old... GIBBS MADE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE OF TONY OVER ZIVA. WE KNOW THAT FOR SURE. *ahem*
